DRAIN KING

Drain King operates with standard house water pressure, 50psi – 80psi.

We do not recommend using a Drain King to unclog a toilet but would rather you utilize our Master Plunger.

Because Drain King works on standard water pressure, there is no danger of cracking your water pipes.

Drain King will clear most clogs up to 1000 feet. It will not clear roots.

Drain King should be inserted past any potential areas where water might vent out. If not possible, simply close or plug potential vents.

NO. Drain King has an automatic lock-in-valve that locks the unit in place. If the clog will not give way immediately, the back pressure will cause the lock-in-valve to close while keeping water pressure on the clog until it gives way.

Water temperature has no bearing. We do recommend cold water for increased life of the product.

Our 340 Drain King kit contains a 10’ standard rubber hose, and a faucet adapter, allowing you to use your indoor water sources.

Yes. Our PE60 crossbar drain adapter allows you to unclog those types of drains. The PE60 is sold separately and is also included in our VIP1, VIP2, and the 575.

MASTER PLUNGER

Clogs are cleared with plungers through the process of water displacement. The more water pushed towards the clog per plunge determines the ability of the plunger. Standard designed rubber cup plungers displace about 2-4 cups of water per plunge. The “bellows design” Master Plunger displaces between 8-10 cups per plunge, depending on the model.

The Master Plunger is far more sanitary. Standard plungers are made of porous rubber meaning that bacteria gets inside the pores and does not rinse off. The Master Plunger is made using high quality plastic that is smooth and can easily be rinsed clean.

The MP1600 is designed for low-flush toilets. In 1999, new toilets became low-flush instead of standard, meaning they were moved from a vertical to a horizontal design. This is the first plunger that conforms to a 90-degree bend to fit tightly and provide significant plunging power.

The air-release valve allows for air trapped inside the bellows to escape from between the handle and bellows, avoiding a full bowl of nasty toilet water from overflowing when submerged.

Yes, we have multiple plungers that feature an open-mouth design which forms a tight-fitting seal on flat surfaces, ideal for clearing blockages in sinks, bathtubs, showers, and patio drains. Our MP200, MPS4, and the MTMP are all great options for this depending on your need.

Yes! The look-a-like bellows plungers in the Big Box stores are manufactured overseas using very cheap plastic resin, which affects the performance of the plunger significantly. They are stiff reducing the effectiveness of the plunge. They also have made modifications to the design of the bellows to circumvent our patented design, reducing the potential plunging power by up to 50%.

PNEUMATIC / HYDRAULIC TEST PLUGS

They look different because we have a patented built-in pressure valve on the bottom of each test plug. This is a safety feature preventing the plug from rupturing due to over-inflation.

They are called pneumatic/hydraulic because the test plugs can be inflated with either air or water. This provides convenience and flexibility.

Our test plugs are rated at holding 30 feet of head pressure, 14 PSIG. Always refer to our safety manual for pressure ratings.

There are several distinct reasons. Our test plugs are made in the USA, utilizing the highest quality rubber. Every plug goes through a rigorous testing process to prior to shipment. Our test plugs feature a pressure-relief valve to avoid over-inflation, and each plug can fit multiple pipe sizes. Additionally, each test plug includes a 3’ pull strap to increase the safety for the user.

We offer a 1-year warranty on all of our test plugs from date of manufacture. If kept in controlled conditions, (out of direct sunlight for extended periods) the test plugs will remain in good condition.

Determine the ID (inside diameter) of the pipe that you wish to plug. Then choose the plug that matches the ID of the pipe for that application. All of our test plugs have multiple pipe size capability, be sure the plug you choose fits within those capabilities. When in doubt, call our customer service number at 800-862-5647.

Our long test plugs are designed to seal wye fittings while conducting a sewer or similar type test. They are unique in that they have a “dual deflation” feature designed into the plug. This feature causes the plug to deflate in two stages, meaning the pressure pipe will deflate first while the access pipe remains inflated, keeping the work area and user dry.

Feet of head is the height of water over the centerline of the plug.

Backpressure is defined in PSI (pound per square inch) or feet of head.
Simply read the gauge pressure for PSI. • For feet of head, calculate height of water over the centerline of the plug.
(Example; 100’ line at 1% slope with a 10’ manhole (100 x .01) + 10 = 11 feet of head).

This calculation is important to the end user and helps them understand the forces behind the plug so that they can decide the proper way to block the plug.

TTMP / TEST TEE MECHANICAL PLUGS

Test Tee plugs are used when doing vertical multi-level stack testing. They are designed specifically to fit into a test tee.

We use a mechanical design because it is far safer, better performing and more convenient. Pneumatic plugs require an air pump or compressor and air hose to inflate the plug. Our plugs also install much faster saving the user valuable time on the job.

Our plugs perform much better than the screw-in plugs. The screw-in plugs are rated to hold 30 feet of head pressure while ours are rated to hold 100 – 150 feet of head pressure for the same size plug. The pneumatic inflatable plugs are a blind inflation, meaning if they are under-inflated, the test will leak and therefore fail and if they are over-inflated, they will burst costing valuable time and money. We also have a steel 2-stage locking pin that securely locks the plug into the test position and into the drain position. No guesswork!

1) The rubber pads on our plugs are replaceable! This allows you to replace the pads if they ever are damaged through user abuse.
2) Our plugs fit all pipe materials, Cast Iron, PVC, DWV and ABS. The screw in versions require buying two separate plugs for cast iron and PVC with certain sizes.
3) Our TTMP Mechanical Test Tee plugs are made in the USA using the highest quality rubber while the two leading manufacturers of the screw-in version test tee plugs have them made overseas using inferior rubber with less quality assurance.

We offer the broadest range of sizes for this type of test plug, available in sizes 2” through 10”. The screw-in test tee plug is available only up to 6” and with limited performance ability. We also offer a “water-fill” feature on sizes 3", 4", 6”, 8” and 10” test tee plugs. This means that the user can fill the test pipe (stack) with water through the plug (at plug level) without having to pull a water hose above the desired testing area and fill the stack from the top.

Our test tee plugs are designed with a steel 2-stage locking pin, which allows the user to keep the plug in the pipe while draining, preventing any backsplash from coming out of the pipe into the work area.
