{"id":6388,"date":"2016-10-14T21:36:10","date_gmt":"2016-10-14T21:36:10","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/gtwaterproducts.com\/?page_id=6388"},"modified":"2021-05-04T23:35:11","modified_gmt":"2021-05-04T23:35:11","slug":"safe-t-seal","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/gtwaterproducts.com\/index.php\/safe-t-seal\/","title":{"rendered":"Test Plugs FAQ&#8217;s"},"content":{"rendered":"<section class=\"l-section wpb_row height_medium\"><div class=\"l-section-h i-cf\"><div class=\"g-cols type_default valign_top\"><div class=\"vc_col-sm-12 wpb_column vc_column_container\"><div class=\"vc_column-inner\"><div class=\"wpb_wrapper\">\r\n\t<div class=\"wpb_text_column \">\r\n\t\t<div class=\"wpb_wrapper\">\r\n\t\t\t<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Safe-T-Seal &#8211; Pneumatic\/Hydraulic Test Plugs<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><b>Q.\u00a0 Why do the GT Water Products, Safe-T-Seal pneumatic test plugs look different from other test plugs?<\/b><\/p>\n<p>A.\u00a0 Our test plugs look different because we have a built-in pressure relief valve on the bottom of each test plug.\u00a0 This is a safety feature preventing the plug from exploding due to over-inflation.<\/p>\n<p><b>Q.\u00a0 Your<\/b> <b>test plugs are called Pneumatic\/Hydraulic.\u00a0 Why?<\/b><\/p>\n<p>A.\u00a0 They are called pneumatic\/hydraulic because our test plugs can be expanded by using air or water.\u00a0 This is a great convenience feature since air sources are not always readily available.<\/p>\n<p><b>Q.\u00a0 How much head pressure do your test plugs hold?<\/b><\/p>\n<p>A.\u00a0 Our test plugs are rated at holding 30 feet of head pressure, 14 PSIG.\u00a0 Always refer to our safety manual for pressure ratings.<\/p>\n<p><b>Q.\u00a0 Why are your test plugs better than other test plugs?<\/b><\/p>\n<p>A.\u00a0 There are several distinct reasons.\u00a0 Our test plugs are made in the USA using high quality GoodYear rubber.\u00a0 Every test plug is pressure tested before sold, they all have a pressure relief valve to protect against explosion due to over-inflation and all of our plugs fit multiple pipe sizes.\u00a0 In addition, each test plug has a 3\u2019 pull strap keeping the user safely away from the danger zone when removing the test plug from the test pipe.<\/p>\n<p><b>Q.\u00a0 What is the shelf life of a Safe-T-Seal test plug?<\/b><\/p>\n<p>A.\u00a0 We offer a 1-year warranty on all of our test plugs from date of manufacture.\u00a0 If kept in controlled conditions, (out of direct sunlight for extended periods) the test plugs will remain in good condition.<\/p>\n<p><b>Q.\u00a0 How do I determine what size test plug should be used?<\/b><\/p>\n<p>A.\u00a0 Determine the ID (inside diameter) of the pipe that you wish to plug.\u00a0 Then choose the plug that matches the ID of the pipe for that application.\u00a0 All of our test plugs have multiple pipe size capability, be sure the plug you choose fits within those capabilities.\u00a0 When in doubt, call our customer service number at 800-862-5647.<\/p>\n<p><b>Q.
