Drain King
Q. What water pressure is required to operate a Drain King?
A. Drain King operates with standard house water pressure, 50psi – 80psi.
Q. Can Drain King be used to unclog a toilet?
A. We do not recommend using a Drain King to unclog a toilet but rather our Master Plunger.
Q. Could the pressure from using a Drain King crack water pipes?
A. Because Drain King works on standard water pressure, there is no danger of cracking your water pipes.
Q. How far will a Drain King clear a clogged pipe?
A. Drain King will clear most clogs up to 1000 feet. It will not clear roots.
Q. Do I have to plug all other outlets (vents)?
A. Drain King should be inserted past any potential areas where water might vent out. If not possible, simply close or plug potential vents.
Q. Could the Drain King possibly slide out of the pipe while in use?
A. NO. Drain King has an automatic lock-in-valve that locks the unit in place. If the clog will not give way immediately, the back pressure will cause the lock-in-valve to close while keeping water pressure on the clog until it gives way.
Q. Does water temperature have bearing on Drain King’s performance?
A. Water temperature has no bearing. We do recommend cold water for increased life of the product.
Q. Is there any possibility of back-flow occurring?
A. Drain King has a built-in check-valve preventing any back-flow from occurring, thus protecting the potable water supply.
Q. Can Drain King be used in multi-level condos and apartments?
A. Our #157 accessory kit contains a dual-purpose faucet adapter and 10′ hose for easy inside connection to male or female threaded faucets.
Q. Can Drain King be used in a kitchen sink where there is a crossbar or drain screen?
A. Our #PE60, Crossbar Drain Adapter allows you to unclog those types of drains. The PE60 is sold separately and also is included in our #VIP1 and VIP2 Drain King Kits.
